Artist in Residence Program 
Chicago Philharmonic Symphony 

CHICAGO, IL

Chicago Philharmonic Symphony's mission is to create meaningful experiences for the community through education and connection, and to support rising artists. Violinist Njioma Grevious, who was selected as the inaugural Artist in Residence for a three-year term; activities will include a variety of activities beyond orchestral performances, such as masterclasses, coaching, mentorship, and community outreach.

Red Clay Dance Co

The touring company is a versatile and dynamic ensemble of dance artivist that tours and performs locally, nationally and internationally the choreographic work of its founder. The organization also houses its signature Making the Artivist apprenticeship program and provides dance education programming to schools and community partners.

KL is an urban arts youth development organization founded in 1996 by three women, Jaquanda Villegas, Leida Garcia-Mukwacha, and Jacinda Bullie. For two decades, alongside many of Chicago’s artists, activists, educators, and youth communities, KL has honed an arts making practice that presents, preserves and promotes Hip Hop as a tool to reimagine and demonstrate a more just world. KL’s Program Facilitators are a collective of artists, activists, educators, and healers.

Polished Pebbles

Polished Pebbles Girls Mentoring Program helps African-American and Latinx tween and teen girls become effective communicators at home, school, and their future careers through mentoring and career-readiness initiatives. One of those initiatives includes the Pink Hard Hat Project, which supports a pipeline of girls for early integration into the skilled trades workforce to close gender pay gaps and leadership gaps in these industries.
